Welcome to Peak Buffalo and Oakwell Aberdeen Angus at Nether Rod Knowle Farm at Eastmoor, Chesterfield, Derbyshire. The farm is situated in the Peak District National Park, neighbouring Chatsworth House and Beeley Moor.
Peak Buffalo have been farming at Eastmoor since 1938 and are now into our fifth generation of Gills still to be farming here.
All of our produce is made here on the farm and butchered with the highest detail and quality. We only use the highest quality cuts of meat for our burgers and sausages, these being the chuck and knuckles. The meat is hung for 5 weeks so it's very tender and won't shrink when you cook it. We don't put any binders in our burgers, they're just very very lean mince and an onion seasoning, so when you cook them they don't shrink or ooze fat out.
We recommend when cooking the burgers and sausages to add a little oil into the pan as otherwise they will stick because of the lack of fat in them etc. Due to the newest addition to the family, Jacob, we are now only standing 3 markets a month. These are Stone Farmers Market which is held on the first Saturday of every month, Chesterfield Farmers Market which is the second Thursday of every month and Bakewell Farmers Market which is the last Saturday of every month. If you wish to pre order any items before the markets of either Buffalo or Beef please do so as we now are limited to stock as we have shrunk the business considerably due to the arrival of Jacob.
